Luisa is the daughter of an Italian immigrant, who fell in love with the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta and applied this passion to growing coffees. The San Judas Tadeo Farm is located in the San Javier District of the Cienega Municipality at an altitude between 1,550 and 1,600 masl and a latitude of almost 11 degrees North (which is equivalent to an altitude of over 1,900 masl at a latitude closer to the equator). The beautiful San Judas Tadeo Farm shares 20 hectares, of which 8 hectares is Castillo variety coffee plants. Recently, she has started to plant Gesha variety plants. The remaining 12 hectares are a protected Natural Reserve that is a principal source of water for the Cienega of Santa Marta. The Sierra Nevada is a special ecosystem in Colombia, as it is a high mountain range independent of the Andes mountain range with its own special attributes. This produces very special and distinct flavors in its coffees, different from the rest of Colombia. Rich coffees from just one harvest a year that present accentuated chocolate and fruit flavors and lasting raw sugar and caramel notes. Yum.
Amor Perfecto has developed a long relationship with Luisa and her Finca San Judas Tadeo, working with her to evolve her coffees, now with natural post-harvest processes. She is a pillar in the Colombian coffee growers community. An amazing coffee experience.
