Luis Calderon is a coffee grower from the town of Acevedo in the State of Huila. Starting at a very young age in the field, for the last 5 years working closely with Cofinet, an association of coffee farmers that focus on quality beans and post-harvest processes. As a result of this and his focus on the more rare and exotic varieties of coffees, he has achieved higher income for his family and himself. He has expanded his variety of coffee plant crops to include Gesha, Wush Wush, Pink Bourbon, Yellow Bourbon, Java, Tabi, Moka and Typica, as well as Caturra and Castillo. He has recently been planting Eugenioides, as well as some hybrids to take the range of varieties of coffees he is producing to a total of 24 different types. He also specializes in natural and honey processes and extended anaerobic drying. The majority of his coffees are exported to the Australian market and he is today considered one of the most innovative coffee growers in Huila.
